About
Hi, I’m Brian. With over 30 years of experience in nonprofit financial management, I’ve had the privilege of helping mission-driven organizations navigate the complexities of finance, compliance, and strategic planning.
My career has been dedicated to empowering nonprofits to achieve their goals while maintaining financial health, transparency, and efficiency.
Read below to learn more about my experience.
A Story Rooted in Mission.
I’ve always been drawn to work that matters—work that serves communities and creates lasting impact. After graduating cum laude from Harvard with a degree in Political Science, I began my journey in nonprofit leadership. My early roles taught me the importance of aligning financial operations with organizational missions, a principle that continues to guide me today.
Throughout my career, I’ve worn many hats: Chief of Staff, Director of Operations, Chief Operations Officer, Executive Pastor, and Area Director. These roles have spanned a variety of mission-driven organizations.
In each position, I’ve served as the chief financial officer for the organization, honing my skills in keeping an organization’s finances in good order. Meanwhile, my participation in the operations and even programmatic aspects of organizations gives me a strong idea of the kinds of financial information organizational leaders crave, and of how to establish and communicate financial processes in ways that the non-finance members of the team can appreciate and understand.
Personal Connection, Professional Expertise.
I understand that nonprofits operate on tight budgets, with limited time and resources. That’s why I chose to focus on providing part-time CFO services—to offer organizations like yours the financial expertise they need without the cost of a full-time hire.
Beyond the numbers, I’m someone who genuinely enjoys building relationships. I believe financial management isn’t just about spreadsheets; it’s about creating systems that empower teams, inspire confidence, and drive impact.
When I’m not helping nonprofits, you can find me cycling, learning Italian, reading history, or spending time with my family.
